Wilmette, IL — May 6, 2026 — Tell Your Story, a story-driven boutique marketing agency, will once again partner with the historic Wilmette Theatre to host the fifth annual Tell Your Story Slam on Wednesday, May 28 at 7:30 p.m. The live storytelling event invites community members to share personal, true stories on stage in five-minute segments.
This year’s theme, “Changes,” sets the tone for an evening of stories that reflect pivotal moments, new directions, and unexpected turns.
“We’ve seen how powerful it is when people take the stage and share something real,” said Amy Falkowski, co-producer and emcee of the event. “Every year, the stories stay with you long after the night ends. We can’t wait to hear what ‘Changes’ means to the people in our community.”
“Now in its fifth year, the Tell Your Story Slam has become a beloved tradition on the Wilmette community calendar,” said George Rafeedie, founder of Tell Your Story and co-host of the event. “I’ve spent my career helping businesses find their story, but there’s something special about real people, on a real stage, sharing something they’ve never told a stranger before.”
Submissions for “Changes” are due by May 20 and can be sent to Amy Falkowski via Facebook or Instagram @amydanedejesus in either a 250-word summary or a 60-second video. All stories must be personal and non-fiction.
Tickets for the May 28 event are $25 and are available through the Wilmette Theatre website. Stories from previous years can be viewed at this link.
